The Israeli occupation forces today, Saturday, tightened their military measures in the vicinity of occupied Jerusalem and its environs.
Local sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces closed the Jaba military checkpoint in northeast Jerusalem, detained hundreds of vehicles, searched them, and checked the id cards of their passengers.
It added that the Israeli occupation forces prevented the entry of building materials into the village of Beit Iksa, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, and hindered the entry of citizens into the village, and seized the identity cards of a number of them.
On the tunnel road leading to villages northwest of occupied Jerusalem, the Israeli occupation forces also set up a military roadblock and detained dozens of vehicles, which caused a traffic crisis.
In the same context, the Israeli occupation forces set up a military checkpoint near the bridge of the town of Qalandia, north of occupied Jerusalem, searched vehicles, and hindered the movement of citizens.
Sources affirmed that the Israeli occupation forces arrested a young man from the Old City in occupied Jerusalem, and tightened their military measures in the vicinity of the city.
They said that the occupation forces arrested the 39-year-old, Raafat Najib, from Khan Al-Zait market in the Old City, and took him to a detention center, and released him later after hours of interrogation.
