Days of Palestine – Ramallah

Media prisoner Bushra Al-Tawil threatened a hunger strike; A rejection of her continued administrative detention, and no date set for her release.

Al-Tawil said, in a message from her prison that I am the media prisoner, Bushra al-Tawil, who is going on an open hunger strike to refuse my administrative detention. If there is no fundamental decision to reduce the four-month period, I will go on a hunger strike in the coming days.

It is noteworthy that the Israeli occupation intelligence renewed, on 7/3/2021, the administrative detention of the captive for a long period of 4 months.

The Israeli occupation’s decision to renew the detention came hours after the release of the father of the journalist Bushra, a leader in the Hamas movement, Jamal al-Tawil, after administrative detention for several months.

Al-Tawil journalist was arrested on the ninth of last November at a pilot checkpoint on the Yitzhar road, south of Nablus.

Al-Tawil's arrest came after the Israeli occupation forces released her at the end of last July, after spending 8 months in the occupation jails.

Bushra al-Tawil was arrested for the first time in 2011, and she was sentenced to 16 months, of which she served six months, and she entered the "Wafa Al-Ahrar" prisoner exchange deal in December 2011, to be re-arrested again in July 2014, and she was sentenced to ten months in prison, which is the continuation of her previous ruling before Release it in the deal.

The third detention was in late October 2017, for eight months, in administrative terms, and the last detention was on December 10, 2019.

The Al-Tawil family suffered from the occupation targeting them through successive arrests. Her parents were arrested several times in the past, and her father spent a total of 14 years in the prisons of the occupation. Her mother was also arrested on February 8, 2010, and she was released on February 1, 2011, after spending a year in the prisons of the occupation.

From the moment they were arrested by the Israeli occupation forces, Palestinian female prisoners are subjected to beatings, insults, insults, and insults. The harassment escalates against them as soon as they arrive at the interrogation centers.

The occupation practices against women prisoners all the methods of investigation, whether psychological or physical, such as beatings, sleep deprivation, shape for long hours, and intimidation and intimidation, without regard for their femininity and their special needs.

The prisoners are being dispersed in Damon prison, which is located inside the occupied territories in 1948, in violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits the transfer of residents from the occupied territories, and they suffer harsh and difficult conditions; Where prison lacks the most basic necessities of human life.
