The Israeli occupation authorities on Thursday notified the demolition of the house of the researcher in Jerusalem affairs, a member of the committee for the defense of the lands of the municipality of Silwan Fakhri Abu Diab, in Wadi Al-Bustan neighborhood in Silwan town, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Abu Dhiab said that the Israeli occupation police, accompanied by crews from the occupation municipality in Jerusalem, stormed his house and handed him a notice of demolition, under the pretext of not being licensed.
He explained that he had paid 100,000 shekels in fines for preparing the necessary papers, but the Israeli occupation authorities insist on the demolition, indicating that this comes within the framework of their policy to pursue Jerusalemites, demolish their homes and displace them, in favor of settlements.
Abu Diyab stated that about 80 houses in the Al-Bustan neighborhood were notified in advance of the demolition and contain about 1,600 residents, 63% of whom are children who are at risk of homelessness at any time.
