DayofPal—Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi says there can be no normalization with Israel until its occupation of Palestinian territory ends.
He said in a speech: “There will be no lasting peace, no true stability and no popular normalization except with a just peace that ends the occupation, puts an end to injustice and aggression, restores rights to their rightful owners and provides security for all.”
El-Sisi, whose country was the first Arab state to sign a peace treaty with Israel in 1979, said the solution to Middle East lies in a comprehensive peace agreement between Israel and Palestine.
A just peace would provide the people of the region with “an opportunity to live in stability and prosperity”, he added.
He also called for support for the Gaza “ceasefire” that took effect in October 2025, after which .ore than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces.
In a related contet, Al-Sisi drew attention by appearing in a military uniform during the inauguration of the Strategic Command headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, coinciding with a grand military parade.
The official opening of the Egyptian Strategic Command headquarters featured a large-scale military parade, with formations from various branches of the armed forces participating, along with a display of the latest weapons and equipment possessed by the Egyptian army.
