Two Palestinian youths were wounded on Wednesday afternoon during confrontations with Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at a checkpoint in as-Sawahira town, southeast of Jerusalem City, following the death of Palestinian youth Ibrahim Halasah.
Local sources said that violent clashes flared up in as-Sawahira town between IOF soldiers and angry Palestinians near Halasah’s family house.
The IOF heavily fired live ammunition, tear gas canisters and stun grenades at the protesters, injuring two who were rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Ibrahim Halasah, 25, was shot dead in the early morning hours by Israeli soldiers at the same checkpoint were the afternoon clashes took place at the pretext that he attempted a car-ramming and stabbing attack.
