Several Palestinian prisoners suffered injuries in Ofer jail, west of Ramallah, after special Israeli forces stormed their cells on Monday and moved many prisoners to other detention facilities.

According to the Palestinian Prisoner Society, the prisoners’ sections were raided after the Ofer jailers claimed that prisoner Rabie Asfour, 31, stabbed and injured one of them.

There is still no information about the nature of injuries sustained by the prisoners.

The Ofer jailers cancelled family visits to the prison until further notice and transferred 38 prisoners to the jails of Ramon, Negev, Nafha and Ayalon. Interrogation sessions were also held for four prisoners.

A stabbing incident reportedly took place on Monday morning in Ofer jail, where a prisoner attacked and injured a prison guard.

The incident came after Israeli jailers escalated their provocative and suppressive measures recently against Palestinian prisoners, especially after they separated many detained minors from adult prisoners, who represent and take care of them, and transferred them from Ofer jail to Damon jail.
