An Israeli minister lashed out at Arab Knesset members for raising placards reading “Jerusalem is capital of Palestine” during US Vice President Mike Pence’s speech in Israeli Knesset.
After MKs from the Joint Arab List party held up the placards, Ze’ev Elkin, Israeli minister of Jerusalem affairs and environmental protection, tweeted that “the Joint List MKs are traitors.”
Elkin wrote that the Arab MKs “who support terrorist groups and oppose strengthening the Israeli interest are traitors!”
He added: “They are in office only due to the mercy of the Supreme Court,” alluding to the court’s repeated rulings against efforts to disqualify them from running for office.
The MKs were forced out of the Knesset plenum by racist Jewish MKs in a scene that lasted less than a minute.
