An official in the electricity company in Gaza said that the two power lines which feed Rafah and Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip were reported damaged.
He said this is the reason behind the current instability in the schedule of electricity timetable across the whole Gaza Strip.
This is normal in Gaza, which had electricity only eight hours a day due to the internationally backed strict 10-year-old Israeli and Egyptian siege.
Last week, several Egyptian power lines and a power generator in the southern Gaza Strip were also reported damaged.

As part of the Israeli and Egyptian policy, during the peak times, they cut off power lines, claiming they were damaged and undergoing maintenance. “This is to double the suffering of the Gaza residents,” the official told Days of Palestine.
Several international sides, including Tukey have proposed several plans to solve the electricity problem in Gaza as Israel claims it is unable to fulfil increasing need of electricity in Gaza.
