Only 6-month jail for settlers burnt infant alive

Days of Palestine, Jerusalem –Israeli defence minister approved on Sunday administration detention of two settlers, who burnt Palestinian family last Friday.

The administration detention, a term used for detention without trial, against the two extremist Jewish settlers Meir Ettinger and Eviatar Slonim to last for six months.

Both settlers were suspected to carrying out the arson attack against the Palestinian family last Friday day, when an 18-month old infant was burnt alive, parents and four-year old boy suffered serious conditions.

On Saturday, the father was announced dead, while the mother and the bot are still fighting for their lives.

Israeli occupation forces and Palestinian Authority security forces did their utmost efforts to crackdown on Palestinians in order to undermine any retaliation attempts.

However, Israeli security forces said they had stepped up pressure on extremist groups with a series of raids on illegal Jewish settlements across the occupied West Bank.

They have only arrested these two settlers and gave them only six months on administrative detention for the horrific incident, which incited global condemnation.

Meir Ettinger, is the grandson of the late Israeli-American ultra-extremist Rabbi Meir Kahane, who carried out numeral attacks against Palestinians and called for shedding their blood.
