Days of Palestine, Jerusalem –Israeli undercover forces arrested, interrogated on Wednesday 7-year old child and his brother 12 year in occupied Jerusalem.
The two children were kidnapped by Israeli undercover forces just one day after two 15-year-old cousins were also kidnapped in the same area.
Sources identified the 7-year old child as Ihab al-Za’tari and his 12-year old brother as Mohamed al-Za’tari. The cousins kidnapped the day before were identified as Alaa and Mahdi al-Za’tari.
All of the children live in the same neighbourhood of Wadi Al-Juz in the Old City of the occupied East Jerusalem.
Family sources said that the children were taken by the undercover forces to Wadi Al-Juz Police Station, where they were interrogated for more than eight hours.
When the family members traced the undercover forces, they knew their children were taken to the Police Station. When asked for permission to remain with the children during the interrogation, the police refused.
According to the PLO, more than 10,000 Palestinian minors in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem have been held by the Israeli occupation for varying periods since 2000.
“The number of Palestinian children arrested by Israeli forces, especially in occupied East Jerusalem, has sharply risen,” Farawna declared, saying that the number of children arrested by Israeli occupation had increased by 87 percent over the past three years.
“The majority of arrested children were subjected to beatings and torture by Israeli security personnel while in detention,” he asserted.
