Days of Palestine, West Bank –Israeli special units stormed prisons on Friday evening, assaulted Palestinian prisoners and wounded 24 of them, commission said.
The Commission of the Palestinian Prisoners and Former Prisoners said that the prisoners wounded in the attack were evacuated to the Israeli hospital of Soroka.
According to the commission, the attack started when the Israeli prison services assaulted the prisoners Ibrahim Samhan, Hilmi Hamamreh and Amer abdul-Nabi during the break in Rimon Prison.
As an act of condemnation, other prisoners inside their jails started to shout Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Great). Then, the Israeli prison services called up special unit forces and stormed department three, five and six in Rimon Prison.
The special unit forces assaulted the prisoners, threw tear gas and sound bullets at them. They damaged part of the prisoners’ properties and confiscated another part, including TVs, radios and other electricity sets.
Until 7pm, the assault continued and the wounded prisoners transferred to the hospital at 9pm without being covered despite the severe cold weather.
Electricity and water were cut off during the assault, the statement said.
