Days of Palestine, Gaza Strip –Palestinian court in Gaza convicted on Monday Palestinian man spied for Israeli occupation for 15 years hard labour.
The 53-year-old man was found guilty of “providing the occupier personal names and the location of sites belonging to the resistance,” a judicial source said.
The defendant had been found to have “collaborated with the occupier since 1988″ and had spent a year in the “Jewish state.”
Under Palestinian law, those convicted of collaboration with the Israeli occupation, murder and drug trafficking face the death penalty.
Since the start of the year, at least one person convicted of “collaboration” with the Israeli occupation has been sentenced to death in the West Bank.
Hamas, the Islamist Palestinian movement that controls Gaza, executed 18 spies in August for collaboration with the Israeli occupation during the Israeli 51-day war, having executed two others in May last year on the same charge.
Protecting spies’ families from the social stigma, Hamas did not name them and included their names with the names of war victims killed during the war.
