Days of Palestine, West Bank –Israeli occupation forces opened on Sunday fire at Palestinian woman causing her bad wounds in Al-Khalil, West Bank.
The Palestinian woman, who was identified as Amal Taqatqa, 22, was walking at Gush Etzion Junction, on a major road in the Etzion illegal settlement bloc in the occupied Palestinian city.
Israeli soldiers, who opened fire at her, claimed she was planning to stab one of them, but Palestinian witnesses in the area stressed that she did nothing to cause doubts of plans to assault anyone.
“She was walking slowly as she wore a veil covering her face –famous style of face cover for many Muslim women – and at the Gush Ezion Junction, the Israeli soldiers targeted her,” an eyewitness told Days of Palestine reporter in Al-Khalil.
“A Palestinian ambulance rushed to the area,” the eyewitness said, “but the Israeli soldiers prevented it approaching the lady who remained bleeding for about half an hour.”
Israeli occupation sources and Israeli media reports claimed that one of the Israeli soldiers in the area was lightly wounded by the lady, but the eyewitness affirmed that she was shot at before approaching the soldiers.
After a while, an Israeli ambulance arrived in the scene and the lady was evacuated to the Israeli Hadassah-Ein Kerem Hospital in critical condition.
