Days of Palestine, Occupied Palestine –Israeli FM Avigdor Lieberman criticised on Friday Israeli occupation government handling of the war on the Gaza Strip.
Lieberman, leader of the Israeli Home, reiterated his position that the Israeli government failed to “finish the job.” He argued that eradicating the Hamas would not have necessitated reoccupying Gaza.
He stated that the Israeli occupation would have had to take charge of key Hamas command and arms production centres to remove it from power.
When asked in an interview with Israeli TV Channel 1 whether ‘Israel’ emerged victorious from the conflict, Lieberman remained adamant: “The fact that this question is being asked is not a positive sign. When the outcome is obvious, it is not usually asked.”
He also added that he was “very bothered” by the fact that the Hamas managed to survive for 50 days against an onslaught from “the strongest army in the Middle East.”
