Days of Palestine, Cairo –Sources revealed the terms of the final ceasefire proposal accepted by the Palestinian and Israeli delegations.
The Israeli delegations left Cairo to Tel-Aviv to discuss the latest about the proposal with Israeli officials.
Israeli media reported that the Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu is meeting now with his Defence Minister Moshe Ya’alon and other intelligence officials to discuss the proposal.
The terms of the proposal are:
- The Erez and Kerem Shalom crossings will be opened permanently, with building materials allowed to enter under international supervision.
- The area allowed for fishing in Gaza waters will be expanded from 6 to 9 miles, and then to 12 miles (as Hamas demanded) within 6 months.
- Gaza’s electrical crisis will be solved within a year.
- A principled agreement was reached to build a seaport in Gaza, a matter to be discussed in a month.
- The release of Palestinian prisoners will be discussed one month from the signing of the agreement.
- Comprehensive end to economic blockade of the Gaza Strip
- Rebuilding the Gaza Strip under the supervision of the Palestinian unity government
The ceasefire has been extended by 24 hours to allow for the finalisation of the agreement.
