DaysofPal-The Hamas Movement stated on Tuesday that the ongoing Israeli occupation in Gaza for more than 22 months has resulted in the deaths of over 61,000 Palestinians, the majority being children and women, in addition to thousands of widows and orphans, while deaths from famine and malnutrition have reached 235, including 106 children.
In a statement issued on World Humanitarian Day, Hamas called for maximum pressure on the Israeli occupation to open crossings, stop what it described as the “crime of extermination and starvation” against over two million Palestinians, and ensure the entry of humanitarian and medical aid into the Gaza Strip.
Hamas stressed that mere condemnation statements are no longer acceptable, emphasizing the need to prosecute the leaders of the occupation, including Benjamin Netanyahu, before international justice.
The Movement also held the U.S. administration directly responsible for the consequences of the ongoing policy of starvation and blocking aid, while praising the efforts of humanitarian and relief teams in Gaza despite continued targeting.
Hamas called on the United Nations and international, Arab, and Islamic humanitarian organizations to intensify their work in Gaza and confront what it described as the Israeli attempts to circumvent international relief protocols.
