Head of the Department of Politics and Foreign Relations in the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas Basem Naim condemned recent statements by the European Commission President toward the Israeli occupation.
In a press statement, Naem said that Mrs. von der Leyen, European Commission President, republished the lies promoted by the leaders of the Zionist project, adding that Palestine was never desert.
Naim described her speech as a kind of political hypocrisy and ignorance of history. He also said that the Palestinian people are still paying the price for this sin committed by the West and its countries.
“Thousands of years ago, Palestine was the cradle of civilizations and a meeting place for coexistence between peoples and the path of knowledge and progress from east to west,” Naim pointed out.
In addition, Naem called on Mrs. Ursula von der Leyen to demand that the Zionist war criminals be brought to justice for what their hands committed against the Palestinian people and homelands.
On Wednesday, Mrs. Ursula von der Leyen delivered a congratulatory video message on ‘Israel’s Independence Day’, praising Israel for making “the desert bloom”.
