DaysofPal- The Ministry of Health in Gaza condemned the Israeli occupation’s attack on Al-Rantisi Children’s Hospital late Tuesday night.
In a press statement issued Wednesday, the ministry said that “the Israeli attack targeted the upper floors of the hospital in three consecutive strikes, spaced only a few minutes apart.”
It explained that this crime once again confirms the Israeli systematic policy of striking and disabling Gaza’s healthcare system entirely.
The ministry noted that Al-Rantisi Hospital is the only specialized facility of its kind in the Gaza Strip, housing departments for oncology, kidney dialysis, and other specialties such as respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases.
According to the statement, there are 80 patients currently receiving treatment at the hospital across various departments, in addition to four children in pediatric intensive care and eight newborns in neonatal intensive care.
Following the bombing, 40 patients left the hospital with their families in search of safety, while 40 patients remained inside with their companions, alongside 12 critical cases in intensive care and 30 medical staff members.
The Ministry of Health renewed its urgent appeal to all concerned parties to protect healthcare institutions, medical staff, and patients in Gaza Governorate.
