DaysofPal– The Israeli military campaign in Gaza entered its 711th consecutive day on Wednesday, with relentless airstrikes, shelling, and ground operations reported across the Gaza Strip.
In the past 24 hours alone, 108 people were killed, 93 in northern Gaza, nine in the central region, and six in the south, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, where three new deaths caused by famine and severe malnutrition were also reported, raising the total to 425 deaths, including 145 children.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed rising casualties, including deaths from malnutrition as famine deepens, where entire families were eradicated in bombing homes while they are inside, and dozens of thousands of civilians were displaced.
According to health officials, 64,964 Palestinians have been killed and 165,312 wounded since October 7, 2023.
The latest Israeli operation has focused on Gaza City, where two brigades have been deployed. Heavy bombardments targeted northern and western neighborhoods, with residential towers and apartment blocks struck repeatedly.
Moreover, nutrition centers and hospitals, already overwhelmed, remain under attack.
Casualties were reported at al-Shifa Medical Complex after a drone strike hit near Martyrs’ Square in al-Shati Refugee Camp.
In another attack, Israeli forces detonated booby-trapped armored vehicles in residential areas south of Gaza City.
Israeli helicopter gunships struck farmland near Khan Younis, killing three people and injuring others. Airstrikes also leveled buildings in Gaza City’s Tel al-Hawa neighborhood, killing and wounding multiple civilians.
Additional strikes hit al-Rantisi Children’s Hospital in Sheikh Radwan and residential buildings in Tel al-Hawa.
Meanwhile, Israeli drones fired on tents sheltering displaced families west of Hamad City, leaving more casualties among those who had already fled their homes.
Witnesses and aid workers describe a dire situation, with no safe zones left across the Strip. “Families are being hunted even as they search for bread,” a local medic said.
International organizations, including UNICEF, have warned of catastrophic conditions for children, nearly half a million of whom are displaced and traumatized after more than 700 days of war.
