DaysofPal- Israeli settlers uprooted approximately 150 olive saplings early this morning in the “Aghziweh” area near the village of Susiya in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, as part of ongoing assaults targeting Palestinian land and livelihoods.
Local sources reported that the uprooted saplings belonged to Palestinian citizen Mohammad Makhameh. In addition to the destruction of the trees, settlers also vandalized parts of the fence surrounding the land.
This attack comes amid a broader campaign of settler violence and land appropriation aimed at displacing Palestinian residents in Masafer Yatta. Recently, the Israeli occupation forces issued several “land seizure orders” targeting key roads and agricultural lands to facilitate settlement expansion and to isolate Palestinian areas.
Among the targeted areas is a crucial road known as “Al-Tariq Al-Sultani,” which stretches 2 kilometers and would effectively isolate the surrounding farmlands. Another planned road is intended to link the settlement of “Avigail,” restricting Palestinian access to their lands.
Additionally, land has been seized for the construction of a bypass road around the “Givat Hanan” settlement, which is close to Susiya and built on privately owned Palestinian land.
These developments come amid a sharp acceleration in settlement expansion and land confiscation, threatening the livelihoods of residents and further entrenching the occupation’s control over the region.
