Israeli Settlers Escalate Violence As Ramadan Approaches

S.K | DOP -

As the holy month of Ramadan is approaching, Israeli settlers’ violence has escalated since the beginning of 2023, that resulted in the rising of the Palestinian resistance in the occupied West Bank cities and the Gaza Strip.

Israeli settlers damaged Monday morning, March 20, 2023 vehicle tires belonging to Palestinian citizens and wrote racist slogans in the occupied West Bank city of Salfit.

Local sources said that Israeli settlers infiltrated the city at dawn, punctured the tires of 10 vehicles, and wrote racist slogans on the walls of houses in the northern area of the city.

Meanwhile in Jericho, Israeli settlers attacked and injured an elderly Palestinian man and his wife after attacking their vehicle in the occupied West Bank city of Jericho on Sunday night, March 19, 2023.

Palestinian local sources reported that Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian vehicles on a Jericho road and stoned several cars.

About 700,000 Israeli settlers live currently in more than 200 settlements built on Palestinian land considered illegal under International law.

Palestinian figures showed that Israeli forces and settlers carried out about 700 attacks against Palestinian families and their properties in the occupied West Bank.

The attacks included assaulting Palestinians, uprooting trees, razing lands, seizing properties, burning and vandalizing vehicles, and closing roads.
