Israeli Settlers Attack Palestinians Across Occupied West Bank
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

DaysofPal – Armed Israeli settlers launched a new wave of coordinated attacks across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem from Tuesday night through early Wednesday, targeting Palestinian communities, homes, and farmland under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.

The attacks triggered widespread mobilization by Palestinian residents, who confronted the assaults in several locations, reflecting growing grassroots resistance to expanding settler violence and displacement policies.

In the northern West Bank, dozens of settlers attacked the Qamas area on the outskirts of the town of Beita, south of Nablus. Mosque loudspeakers called on residents to mobilize immediately in an effort to repel the assault. Israeli forces later entered the area, providing protection and support for the settlers during the attack.

Nearby, violent confrontations erupted overnight in the village of Jalud, southeast of Nablus, after residents gathered to confront another settler raid. Local residents succeeded in forcing the settlers to withdraw. Elsewhere south of Nablus, settlers also attacked a Palestinian home near the Al-Murabba military checkpoint.

Central West Bank: Crops Set Ablaze in Turmus Ayya

In the central West Bank, settlers intensified attacks on the town of Turmus Ayya, north of Ramallah, opening heavy live fire toward residential homes on the outskirts of the town in an attempt to intimidate the local population.

The assault extended beyond gunfire, with settlers deliberately setting fire to agricultural fields and farmland. The resulting blaze consumed large areas of trees and crops while residents, assisted by civil defense crews, struggled to contain the flames before they reached nearby homes.

In occupied East Jerusalem, large groups of settlers entered the town of Hizma under heavy protection from Israeli forces. Palestinian residents confronted the incursion in an effort to prevent attacks on their community, leading to clashes that reflected continued opposition to Israeli settlement expansion and repeated incursions into Palestinian towns around Jerusalem.

Similar attacks continue to affect southern areas of the occupied West Bank, particularly in the Hebron, Bethlehem, and Masafer Yatta regions, where Palestinians face near-daily assaults that include land confiscation, home and shelter demolitions, attacks on shepherds, and the poisoning of livestock. Palestinians and rights groups say these actions form part of a broader strategy aimed at forcing Palestinian communities from their land to facilitate settlement expansion.

The latest violence comes amid a sharp rise in settler attacks across the occupied West Bank, with Palestinian officials and human rights organizations accusing the Israeli government of encouraging and arming settler groups while providing them with military protection.

In response to the escalating attacks, growing calls have emerged across Palestinian communities to establish local civilian protection committees, strengthen community coordination, and expand collective efforts to defend residents, farmland, and property from continued settler violence and the threat of forced displacement.
