Well-informed authorities warned Saturday, March 4, of the danger of Israeli threats of demolition and displacement against more than 80 Jerusalemites in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and Silwan town in Jerusalem, before the advent of Ramadan, in favor of Israeli settler associations.

During the current month, the Israeli occupation courts are holding potentially decisive hearings on eviction and displacement cases, affecting over 80 Jerusalemites at one time.

The extremist Israeli government is carrying out the largest eviction and ethnic cleansing operation, which deprives dozens of Jerusalemite families of their legal rights to their homes in the Old City, the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, and the town of Silwan.

The consequences of immediate eviction extend to more than 150 Jerusalemite families, about 1,000 members, in the Old City of Jerusalem and its surrounding neighborhoods.

During the past month, the Israeli occupation forces demolished and bulldozed about 41 Palestinian facilities in occupied Jerusalem, of which 13 were forcibly self-demolished, in addition to three excavation and land leveling operations.

They also handed over 36 demolition notices to a number of Palestinian citizens. The most prominent of these notices was in Jabal al-Mukabber, as the occupation forces handed over demolition notices to about 20 retail stores.
