An Israeli settler on Tuesday evening opened fire on a 13-year-old Palestinian in the Jerusalem district of Silwan, with the young Palestinian subsequently reported to be in a stable state.

According to local reports, the Israeli settler wounded the 13-year-old boy in the town of Silwan, leaving him with moderate injuries. The injured Palestinian teen was then apprehended by Israeli occupation forces and taken to a hospital.

The Israeli occupation claims that the Palestinian teenager was among a group of Palestinians who tried to throw stones and Molotov cocktails at an Israeli vehicle that was patrolling the area around Israeli settlers’ homes.

The Israeli occupation forces imposed a closure on the entrances to Silwan following the shooting.
