The Israeli occupation forces fired tear gas canisters at Palestinian homes in the village of Tuwani in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, in the occupied West Bank on Saturday, October 1, 2022.
Local sources said that this morning, the occupation forces surrounded the village of “Twani” and fired tear gas canisters at the Palestinian citizens’ homes.
They added that the Israeli settlers of “Khavat Ma’on” settlement set fire to the Palestinian pastures of “Al-Hamra” in Masafer Yatta, as part of their repeated practices to harass the Palestinian residents and attack their property.
The sources pointed out that dozens of Palestinians participated in a sit-in in Masafer Yatta, against the decision of the occupation to displace the village and demolish the homes of Palestinian citizens.
They explained that, two days ago, the occupation rejected a petition by the the Palestinian people of Masafer Yatta against the demolition decision; This increases the fears that the occupation forces will storm the area at any moment and start demolishing their houses.
The Israeli occupation authorities constantly practice the policy of demolition against Palestinians’ homes throughout the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, in order to displace its residents and turn them into settlements.
