The Israeli occupation announced Sunday, April 9, 2023, the closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque in occupied Hebron for Sunday and Monday under the pretext of the advent of the “Jewish Passover” holiday.
The director of the Ibrahimi Mosque, Ghassan Al-Rajabi, stated Sunday, that the Israeli occupation forces closed the Ibrahimi Mosque after the Tarawih prayers Saturday, April 8, under the pretext of the “Jewish Passover” holiday.
Al-Rajabi confirmed that the occupation authorities will prevent prayer and the call to prayer in the Mosque over the two days, which will prevent Palestinian worshipers from reaching the mosque.
He explained that thousands of Israeli settlers will invade and desecrate the mosque while its employees and Palestinian worshipers will be prevented from being there.
Since 1994, the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron has been divided into two parts, one for Muslims and the other for Jews, after an Israeli settler murders 29 Palestinian worshipers while they were performing the Dawn prayer on February 25 of the same year.
