Israeli Observers Refer Jerusalem ununited over Israeli flags march

M.Y | DOP -

Israeli political analysts pointed out that the Israeli flags march on Sunday 29 March 2022 in Jerusalem did not show Israeli sovereignty over the city. Yet, what happened was nothing but a show-off by Israeli occupation forces.

Amichai Atali, the journalist at Ynet, stated that Jerusalem is not really unified, and the only ones who celebrate its partial unification are those who wear woven hoods, referring to ultra-nationalist Zionists.

He added “Let us see them walk alone, on an ordinary day, in the path of the paratroopers who liberated Jerusalem, from Augusta Victoria hospital through the Lions’ Gate (Bab Al-Asbat) all the way to the Temple Mount (Al-Aqsa Mosque). A Jew in the world would dare to do so, for walking this path with the flag of Israel is certain suicide.”

Amos Harel, an Israeli journalist and military analyst in Haaretz newspaper, said: “Despite the substantial effort made by extremist right-wing activists yesterday, the flag march in Jerusalem’s old city has not yet led to a major flare-up between Israelis and Palestinians. Instead, we watched the usual combination of manifestation of racism, violent quarrels between Jews and Arabs, and a general sense of disgust, while the questionable achievement of the march from last year – when Hamas responded by firing rockets into Jerusalem, which led to “Operation Guardian of the Walls’ in the Gaza Strip – has not yet been repeated.
