Israeli Military Court Extends Detention of Palestinian Prisoner Khader Adnan

S.K | DOP -

The Palestinian Prisoners Club confirmed Wednesday, February 8, 2023 that Israeli Military Court extended the detention of the Palestinian prisoner, Khader Adnan (44), until next Monday.

The Palestinian prisoner Adnan is on a hunger strike for the fourth day in a row, in refusal of his own unjust detention as he currently spends his detention in the “Al-Jalama” detention centre.

On February 5, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) re-arrested Adnan from his home in the town of Arraba in occupied Jenin Governorate, that he immediately declared his hunger strike from day one. IOF detained Adnan by searching and vandalising his house.

It is noteworthy that the occupation forces has detained the Palestinian prisoner Adnan (12) times, and spent a total of about eight years inside Israeli prisons, most of which were under administrative detention.

Note that Israeli occupation detains 4,500 Palestinian prisoners inside Israeli occupation prisons, including 400 who have severe and chronic illnesses, 31 women, and 500 administrative detainees.

In the absence of strong pressure to stop the systemic inhumane abuses, the racist and fascist policies of the Prison Service Administration have a negative impact on Palestinian detainees.

It’s noteworthy that these provocative acts in the West-Bank  come amid the escalating atmosphere, especially after the formation of the new Israeli Government.

The new Israeli Government follow a systematic daily violations against Palestinian citizens, deliberate detentions, house demolitions and mandatory deportation policy in a multiplied approach in a way to suffocate and complicate Palestinian lives.
