The Israeli occupation issued 260 administrative detention orders against a number of Palestinian prisoners during January, 2023 amid the emerge of the new Israeli extremist government and its forced regulations on Palestinians.
The Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs stated, in a report issued Wednesday, January 31, 2023 that among the issued orders are 103 new administrative orders and 157 renewal orders, for periods ranging from two to six months.
The Palestinian administrative detainee is often exposed to the renewal of the detention period more than once for a period of three months, six months or eight, and it may sometimes reach a full year, and in some cases it reaches seven years, as in the case of the Palestinian prisoner Ali Al-Jammal.
The occupation authorities and prison administrations claim that the administrative detainees have secret files that cannot be disclosed at all, so the detainee does not know the length of his sentence or the charge against him, neither his lawyer.
The Israeli occupation currently holds about 860 administrative detainees inside its prisons, most of whom are in prisons (Ofer, the Negev, and Megiddo), including 7 children and two female prisoners, namely Shuruq al-Badan and Raghad al-Fani.
