Israeli Bulldozers Raze Palestinian Lands, Olive Trees in Salfit

B.M | DOP -

Israeli occupation bulldozers razed several Palestinian lands and hundreds of olive trees in the occupied West Bank city of Salfit on Monday, February 6, 2023.

The Mayor of the Marda village Nesfat Al-Khafash stated that Israeli occupation forces razed the Palestinian lands in the western area of Marda village.

He added that the bulldozing works came in favor of constructing water pipelines for the Israeli settlements established on the lands of the village.

“The settlement project affected hundreds of dunums of the Palestinian lands planted with ancient olive trees,” He pointed out.

Al-Khafash added that Israeli bulldozers uprooted hundreds of olive trees. Thus, they deprived Palestinian families of their main source of income.

Israeli Settlers, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, systematically attack Palestinian families. They also attack their lands and properties in the occupied West Bank.

Israeli occupation officially took over the Palestinian lands in the West Bank and Jerusalem in 1967.

Currently, about 600,000 Israeli settlers live in over 230 illegal settlements built since 1967 in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.

Earlier in 2023, The European Union reiterated its strong opposition to the Israeli settlement policy and the illegal measures against Palestinians in this context.

According to UN resolutions, Israel’s settlement activity constitutes a “flagrant violation” of international law and has “no legal validity”
