Israeli occupation vehicles and bulldozers started Thursday morning, May 25, 2023, to build a road surrounding the illegal Israeli “Homesh” settlement, which overlooks the Palestinian town of Barqa, in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus.
The opening of the settlement road coincides with the Israeli settlers’ return to the evacuated Israeli “Homesh” settlement, which is built on Palestinian land between Nablus and Jenin in West Bank.
Israeli settlers are looking forward to establishing a religious school in the evacuated settlement, where the tent was removed in the place and a new building was built, Israeli Haaretz newspaper reported.
It indicated that the settler gangs are protected by dozens of Israeli soldiers who are permanently present in the settlement.
In preparation for the Israeli colonizers’ return to the settlement, the Israeli occupation forces transformed it into military barracks and recently set up guard posts and an iron gate leading to the military barracks, where dozens of soldiers permanently are.
On the other side, Israeli forces prevented Palestinian farmers to reach their own lands there, as they detained many Palestinian farmers when they tried to reach their lands.
Last March, Israeli Kennest approved the repeal of the so-called Disengagement Law, so the Israeli settlers return to 4 illegal Israeli settlements (Homesh, Ghanem, Kadim, and Sanur) on Palestinian land in West Bank that have been evacuated in 2005.
