DaysofPal – In the last 48 hours, Israeli occupation forces have targeted Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza with drone strikes more than seven times, injuring multiple medical staff members and patients.
Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, the director of the hospital, reported on Saturday, November 23, 2024, that the repeated airstrikes struck vital areas of the hospital, including the power generator, the emergency entrance, and the hospital grounds.
These attacks caused power outages and left both medical personnel and patients wounded. According to Dr. Abu Safiya, one doctor, one nurse, and one administrative staff member were injured, along with 12 others.
There are currently 86 injured patients at the hospital, with 8 in critical care on ventilators, and 13 children being treated in the pediatric department.
The World Health Organization expressed deep concern over the attack, especially regarding the damage to the hospital’s oxygen system, which now risks endangering both patients and healthcare workers.
This attack comes amid continued Israeli military attacks in northern Gaza, where areas such as Jabalia, Beit Lahiya, and Falouja were subjected to intense bombardment early on Saturday, with repeated demolitions of residential buildings.
In Jabalia, the Israeli forces have left the area devoid of any signs of life, destroying entire neighborhoods under heavy bombardment and an ongoing blockade that prevents essential supplies such as food, water, and medicine from reaching the region.
Both the health and aid systems in the area have been completely incapacitated, with water wells and other vital facilities destroyed as part of a continuous series of war crimes.
This marks the third time Israeli forces have invaded Jabalia since the beginning of the genocide against Gaza over a year ago, following earlier invasions in December 2023 and May 2024.
Since October 7, 2023, with full U.S. support, the Israeli military has waged a brutal genocide against Gaza, resulting in over 140,000 Palestinian casualties, most of whom are women and children, with more than 10,000 missing.
The scale of destruction and famine has led to the deaths of numerous children, making this one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world.
Despite international calls to cease hostilities, Israel continues its massacres in Gaza, disregarding a United Nations Security Council resolution for an immediate halt to the violence and orders from the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent genocide and improve the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza.
