DaysofPal- The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) had deliberately attacked Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, Health Ministry said on Thursday evening,
“This evening, an Israeli drone (quadcopter) dropped a bomb at the entrance of the emergency department, injuring several medical personnel, including a nurse who is in critical condition and has been admitted to intensive care,” the ministry stated.
As medical teams tried to evacuate the injured after the initial bombing, the same drones opened fire, injuring six more staff members, two of whom were in critical condition, according to the ministry.
In another devastating incident, the hospital’s main power generator was struck, leading to a total loss of electricity and oxygen supplies. The bombing also inflicted significant damage to the hospital’s water tanks, causing them to rupture and drain completely.
The Ministry strongly condemned the bombing of the Kamal Adwan Hospital, which houses 80 patients, eight of whom are in intensive care and are now in immediate danger due to a lack of oxygen, electricity, and water.
It emphasized that the deliberate targeting of Kamal Adwan Hospital endangers the lives of its patients while also constituting a serious violation of international humanitarian law. The hospital’s inability to restore basic utilities—electricity, oxygen, and water—has pushed it to the brink of total operational failure.
The Ministry reiterated its appeal to international and humanitarian institutions to provide protection for hospitals and health personnel in the Gaza Strip. It also called for an immediate cessation of Israeli aggression against healthcare facilities.
The Kamal Adwan Hospital has been under siege for several days, with a United Nations official noting earlier this week that the Israeli military blocked vehicles from delivering aid to Beit Lahia, where the hospital is located.
