DayofPal– A group of Palestinian children was tragically murdered by Israeli airstike while playing around their homes in Al-Shati’ refugee camp, west of the Gaza city, on Sunday evening.
Israeli wareplanes struck near Ghaben Caffe in Al-Shati camp, where a group of children under ten was peacefully playing, claiming the lives of at least five children and left many others injured.
The slaughtered children were moved to Al-Ahli Al-Arabi hospital in Gaza, where some of them succumbed to their injuries in a heinous crime that contravenes the International law.
Hamas decried the “horrific crime” and deemed it a “moral degradation that transcends all boundaries and norms,” adding that “The Nazi-like occupation kills merely for the sake of killing and ethnic cleansing.”
The movement urged world’s states to file legal cases before the relevant courts, especially the International Criminal Court, in preparation for the prosecution of war criminals for these crimes and atrocities Israel committed against the Palestinian people.
“The blood of our children will remain a curse that haunts them everywhere,” the movement added.
This crime against Al-Shati’ children was committed as the Israeli army has continued its military assaults on northern Gaza for the ninth day in a raw.
As the war entered its 373rd day, the Israeli military is reported to be tightening its siege on Jabalia, Beit Hanoun, and Beit Lahia, aiming to forcibly displace the Palestinian population in accordance with the so-called “Generals’ Plan.”
The army has constructed barricades to isolate Gaza City from the north and has demolished dozens of homes in Jabalia using explosive robots, leaving behind dozens of casualties.
Israeli forces have ramped up their air, ground, and naval assaults across Gaza. Over the past 24 hours alone, dozens of Palestinians have been killed or wounded in airstrikes.
Rescue teams are facing difficulties retrieving over 75 bodies, part of the 285 fatalities recorded in the last eight days. Meanwhile, Israeli forces are reportedly blocking ambulance and civil defense teams from reaching the dead and injured
Gaza’s Ministry of Health confirmed that the siege on northern Gaza has persisted for nine days, leaving many civilians trapped in their homes with no acces to food or water, unable to receive medical assistance as well.
The ministry also stated that Israeli forces are preventing blood units collected in southern Gaza from reaching hospitals in the north. However, medical crews have managed to enter limited amount of fuel to Kamal Adwan Hospital after multiple attempts.
Al-Ahli Al-Arabi Hospital, where the Al-Shati’s murdered children were hospitalized in, has appealed for urgent blood donations to save the injured.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that since the genocide began on October 7, 2023, the death toll in Gaza has reached 42,227, with 98,464 injured.
