DayofPal– A devastating Israeli airstrike struck a UN school shelter in Gaza’s Nuseirat refugee camp on Sunday, claiming the lives of 22 displaced people, including 15 children.
Among the victims was infant Ridwan Kashkou, who was born within the very walls of the shelter where he tragically lost his life.
The attack targeted Al-Mufti School, a sanctuary for hundreds of displaced Palestinians seeking refuge from the ongoing barrage of Israeli airstrikes.
Eyewitnesses recounted that Israeli artillery rained down on the school resulted in a devastating massacre and a harrowing scene.
Medical sources indicated that five of the slain victims were rushed to Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Hospital, while 13 others, including several children, were transported to Al-Awda Hospital, in Al-Nuseirate, for urgent care.
This massacre stands as one of the most lethal assaults on civilian shelters, with Israeli strikes on 191 refugee centers in Gaza leading to more than 1,060 fatalities, as reported by the Gaza Government Media Office.
Israeli forces were allegedly aware that Al-Mufti School was sheltering vulnerable civilians, including numerous women and children displaced by previous bombings and at several evacuation orders from the Israeli military.
Nonetheless, the school was struck, further intensifying the toll on civilian refuges amid the escalating war in Gaza.
Just some hours before this massacre took place, Israeli wareplanes struck a group of children who were playing near their homes in Al-Shati’ refugee camp, claiming the lives of at least five of them.
Associated Press reported that Netanyahu’s government may deem all Palestinian citizens, including children, in north Gaza as combatants, enabling soldiers to kill or starve them.
Since the onset of the war on Gaza, Israel has killed more than 17,000 children with dozens were born and killed during the genocide, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
