DaysofPal – The Palestinian Ministry of Health said on Wednesday that 13 Palestinians were killed and 18 others injured in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours as Israeli attacks continued across the territory.
In a statement, the ministry said that 12 of the victims were newly killed, while one person died from wounds sustained in an earlier Israeli attack.
Among the latest casualties, three members of the Abu Qasim family were killed in an Israeli airstrike before dawn on Wednesday that targeted a residential apartment in Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip. Local media reported that an Israeli military helicopter struck the family’s home near Al-Baraka Roundabout, west of the city.
The victims were identified as Omar Sami Ahmed Abu Qasim, 33, his wife, Asma Ghazi Abu Qasim, and their six-year-old daughter, Habiba. Several other people were reported injured in the attack.
The Health Ministry said a number of victims remain trapped beneath the rubble or lying in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense teams have been unable to reach them due to the ongoing bombardment and dangerous conditions on the ground.
Since the ceasefire went into effect on October 10, 1,123 people have been killed and 3,616 have been injured, according to the ministry. An additional 800 bodies have been recovered from beneath the rubble during the same period.
The ministry added that the overall death toll in the Gaza Strip since the start of the Israeli genocidal campaign on October 7, 2023, has reached 73,246, with 173,727 people injured.
