DaysofPal- The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have issued 800 orders for demolition, construction halts, and land confiscations in the West Bank since the beginning of 2025, according to the Land Research Center in Nablus.
Mahmoud al-Sayfi, the center’s director, said the measures form part of a systematic campaign targeting the West Bank that runs parallel to policies of “genocide, starvation, and thirst” being carried out in Gaza.
Al-Sayfi noted that Israel has reinforced this campaign through the establishment of 950 checkpoints and gates stretching from Jenin in the north to the southern tip of Hebron.
At the same time, Israeli authorities have intensified settlement expansion and Judaization in Jerusalem, describing it as a bid to advance the annexation plan.
According to al-Sayfi, the West Bank today hosts 198 settlements, many of which have grown into city-like structures.
These include 107 settlements along the separation wall, 53 in the central West Bank, and 38 in the Jordan Valley near the Jordanian border.
The targeting of Area C, which makes up 62% of the West Bank, is central to Israel’s strategy, al-Sayfi added.
Outposts erected there often evolve rapidly into permanent settlements along the borders of Area B, thereby accelerating the annexation process.
He further highlighted that Jerusalem is facing intensified assaults, including repeated settler incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque, the seizure of Palestinian properties, and widespread demolitions.
Among these, nearly 90 cases involved forced self-demolition, where Palestinian families were compelled to tear down their own homes under Israeli pressure.
