The Palestinian Prisoners Club warned Friday, March 24, 2023 against the detorierating health condition of the Palestinian prisoner Walid Daqqa and held the Israeli occupation prison administration fully responsible for his condition.
The Palestinian prisoner Walid Daqqa, detained for 38 years now, currently suffers cancer in the spinal cord and currently stay in Barzlai Hospital, with a serious health condition.
Palestinian Prisoners’ Club stressed in a statement quoting his wife, Sana Salama, who was not allowed to visit him, that he began suffering from acute pneumonia, acute kidney failure, and a sharp drop in blood ratio, in addition to a number of serious health symptoms he has been facing recently.
The Prisoners’ Club added that the prisoner, Daqqa, suffer the continuous crime of medical maltreatment by the Israeli prison administration of “Ashkelon Prison” and delaying his urgent transfer to the hospital.
The Palestinian thinker Walid Daqqa (60), from the town of Baqa al-Gharbia in the lands of 1948, comes from a family consisting of three sisters and 6 brothers, noting that he lost his father during the years of his detention.
Prisoner Daqqa suffered a number of abusive policies against the backdrop of his knowledge productions in particular, and the occupation prison administration sought to confiscate his writings and private books and subject him to solitary confinement.
There are 4,780 Palestinians inside Israeli occupation prisons, including 400 who suffer severe and chronic illnesses, 31 women, and 500 administrative detainees.
In the absence of strong pressure to stop the systemic inhumane abuses, the racist and fascist policies of the Prison Service Administration have a negative impact on Palestinian detainees.
