DaysofPal – As Israeli forces continue to kill starving Palestinians who are trying to get humanitarian aid, the Hamas Movement has called for coordinated international, Arab, and Islamic action to put pressure on Israel to stop the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip.
Hamas denounced the most recent massacre, in which more than 50 civilians were killed while waiting at aid distribution sites, in a statement released on Tuesday.
“The daily massacres continue to happen around the Zio-American aid distribution points in the Gaza Strip,” the movement stated, “where innocent starving people are lured into deadly ambushes and shot at.”
“These people were only hoping to secure food for their children,” the statement continued. “They joined about 500 others who had been martyred at the gates of death traps in the southern and central Gaza Strip.”
Medical sources confirmed that 26 Palestinians were killed on Tuesday morning by Israeli shelling and gunfire as they waited to receive aid near the Netzarim junction in central Gaza. Eyewitnesses described harrowing scenes of indiscriminate fire and said many bodies remained unrecovered due to the extreme danger in the area.
In a separate incident the same day, more than 20 Palestinians were killed near an aid distribution center in the southern city of Rafah, according to the Ministry of Health.
The Gaza Health Ministry reports that since the beginning of the US-Israeli aid distribution mechanism on May 27, at least 516 Palestinians have been killed and over 3,799 injured while trying to access food. An additional 39 individuals remain missing.
Critics have slammed the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation,” a US- and Israeli-backed body tasked with distributing limited aid, as deeply flawed and dangerous. The mechanism operates without UN oversight or coordination with international relief agencies and has been rejected by the United Nations.
Hamas described the system as a cover for war crimes. “Over 50 innocent starving people were killed by the fascist occupation army this morning,” the group said, referring to Israeli forces. “This is not humanitarian relief. These are death traps.”
The movement also denounced the international community’s failure to intervene. “We condemn the international silence regarding these heinous crimes committed by Israel before the eyes and ears of the world,” the statement said.
It urged the UN and its institutions to activate accountability mechanisms to bring Israeli leaders to justice for crimes against humanity.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has imposed a relentless siege on the Gaza Strip with full US backing. According to Palestinian officials, the war has resulted in more than 187,000 Palestinians killed or injured, over 11,000 missing, and widespread famine and displacement.
Entire neighborhoods have been reduced to rubble, while critical infrastructure and health services have collapsed.
Hamas’s call ends with an appeal for urgent and unified action: “We call on the United Nations, Arab League, Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and all free people of the world to pressure Israel to stop the genocide and to allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza through recognized UN mechanisms without delay.”
