The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas condemned on Monday, 20 February 2023 the Israeli Knesset’s approval of a settler-colonial racist law aimed at expelling Palestinian detainees from occupied Jerusalem and the 1948 occupied Palestinian lands.
In a statement, Hamas stated that Israeli occupation revoking the citizenship or permanent residency of Palestinians under the pretext of resisting the Israeli occupation and its racist policies is an encroachment upon the Palestinian people’s right to their historical homeland.
“This comes as part of a settler-colonial policy intended to forcibly displace the Palestinian people.” the movement added.
The Palestinian Movement continued that this requires international and UN action to put an end to such settler-colonial, racist laws and take punitive measures against the Israeli occupation over its blatant violations of the most basic human rights standards.
Hamas stressed that the Palestinian citizens of Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948 will continue holding on to their homeland and remain part and parcel of the Palestinian people and their long-standing identity and civilization.
“Such racist and arbitrary laws will not dissuade the Palestinian people from persisting in their struggle against the Israeli occupation and its fascist policies and defending their homeland and their Muslim and Christian holy sites.”, Hamas confirmed.
