DaysofPal – More than 30 Palestinians were killed and dozens more injured on Saturday in a wave of Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip, as the humanitarian crisis deepens under continued siege and displacement. Among the victims were at least 11 people who had been waiting for humanitarian aid.
Israeli shelling and gunfire targeted various parts of the besieged enclave, including densely populated areas and makeshift shelters for displaced families. According to local sources, the Israeli military carried out bombings in neighborhoods across northern, central, and southern Gaza, including Shuja’iya, Tufah, Jabalia, and Khan Yunis.
In Rafah’s ash-Shakoush area, at least three Palestinians were killed near a U.S.-backed aid distribution point. Witnesses said they had gathered in hopes of receiving food when Israeli forces opened fire. Similar attacks were reported near the Netzarim junction, where civilians attempting to reach humanitarian supplies were met with live ammunition.
Two civilians were shot dead at dawn in tents sheltering displaced families near Asdaa, Khan Yunis. Later in the day, seven others were killed when Israeli forces bombed a tent in the an-Nasr neighborhood of Gaza City.
Another child was killed and several others wounded in an attack on tents in Khan Yunis, while four people were killed in a strike near Eyoun junction.
Medical sources confirmed that three children were killed and another seriously wounded in an Israeli airstrike on Mansoura Street in the Shuja’iya neighborhood. “They were just playing when the strike hit,” one medical worker said, visibly shaken.
The Gaza Ministry of Health, meanwhile, said that 1,037 injured people and 202 bodies had arrived at hospitals in the last 48 hours alone. The total number of Palestinians killed since the beginning of Israel’s military campaign on October 7, 2023, has risen to 55,908, with over 131,138 wounded.
Beyond the casualties, the continued destruction of homes and infrastructure has left tens of thousands of families displaced and without access to basic necessities. Residents say the Israeli military continues to demolish houses. forcing families to flee repeatedly as bombardments shift from one area to another.
Israeli artillery also pounded the Batn al-Samin area in central Khan Yunis, while a series of airstrikes struck homes and buildings in Jabalia and other northern districts.
A field report by the Associated Press described scenes of desperation and chaos, where Palestinians are forced to risk their lives daily in search of food. The report noted that Israeli forces often fire at civilians crossing military zones to reach aid, and that others fall victim to looters armed with knives, waiting to steal whatever aid survivors manage to obtain.
Palestinian eyewitnesses say that troops fire to prevent crowds from crossing a certain point before the centers open, or because people are leaving the route designated by the army. They describe a heavy barrage of tanks, snipers, drones, and even cannons mounted on cranes.
