Extremist Israeli settlers invaded Al-Aqsa Mosque on Thursday morning, June 15, 2023, under Israeli occupation forces’ protection.
The Islamic Endowments Department in occupied Jerusalem reported that dozens of settlers invaded Al-Aqsa Mosque and conducted provocative tours in its courtyards.
They performed Talmudic rituals in the Bab al-Rahma area, east of the mosque.
The occupation forces continued to impose restrictions on the entry of worshippers coming from Jerusalem and the occupied territories to Al-Aqsa Mosque, scrutinizing their identities and detaining some at the outer gates.
Khadija Khweis, a Jerusalemite steadfast defender of the mosque explained that next Monday marks the beginning of the first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah, including the day of Arafah, one of the greatest days for Muslims. It is an opportunity for seclusion and vigilance in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
She said, “We must be present in Al-Aqsa intensively to assert our right to Itikaf and to prove to the enemy that it is our mosque and we have the right to be present in it at all times.”
Al-Aqsa Mosque witnesses daily violations and incursions by settlers, under the protection of the occupation forces, in an attempt to impose full control over the mosque and divide it temporally and spatially.
