DaysofPal – Four Palestinians were killed and several others injured on Tuesday after an Israeli airstrike targeted the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, as reported ceasefire violations across the enclave continue to escalate.
According to local sources, Israeli warplanes struck a group of civilians in the camp during the morning hours, killing four people and wounding several others.
Earlier in the day, local reports confirmed the death of 15-year-old Fatima Mohammed Abdel Hadi al-Khatib, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a previous Israeli strike that targeted the Ghaith camp in the Mawasi area west of Khan Younis.
Meanwhile, extensive destruction was reported in Camp 5 in Nuseirat refugee camp after heavy Israeli bombardment overnight had devastated an entire residential block. Several homes were completely destroyed, while others, including inhabited houses, suffered severe damage, reflecting what residents described as an intensifying pattern of attacks and mounting civilian losses.
In southern Gaza, eyewitnesses reported hearing extremely heavy gunfire from Israeli military vehicles stationed east of Khan Younis.
A separate incident overnight saw a group of Palestinian police officers narrowly survive after an Israeli drone targeted them in Khan Younis, according to local accounts.
Israeli occupation forces have continued to violate the Gaza ceasefire agreement through repeated air and artillery strikes targeting areas sheltering displaced civilians, alongside demolition operations and destruction within the “yellow line.” Restrictions on the movement of goods, humanitarian aid, and travel have also remained in place.
Data released by the Palestinian Ministry of Health indicated that the death toll since the ceasefire began on October 10 has risen to 913 Palestinians, with 2,713 others injured. The ministry also reported the recovery of 777 bodies from previously inaccessible areas.
The ceasefire agreement was reached after two years of a genocidal war launched by Israel on October 8, 2023. The conflict later evolved into multiple forms of military escalation, leaving more than 72,000 Palestinians dead and over 172,000 injured, while causing widespread destruction to nearly 90 percent of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure. The United Nations has estimated reconstruction costs at approximately $70 billion.
