DaysofPal— The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip has warned that thousands of patients and wounded individuals remain on waiting lists for medical travel abroad, as the healthcare crisis in the enclave continues to worsen due to the ongoing Israeli siege and bombing on Gaza.
The ministry said that only 29 patients were able to leave Gaza through the Rafah land crossing earlier in the day.
A day earlier, 20 patients departed for hospitals in Jordan to receive treatment.
The ministry stressed that the limited number of patients allowed to leave does not meet the urgent needs of those on waiting lists, many of whom are suffering from severe health and humanitarian conditions.
It added that the Gaza Strip continues to face major challenges in its healthcare system amid ongoing strain on medical services due to the Israeli siege.
Officials called on relevant authorities to accelerate medical evacuation procedures for patients and the wounded, and to ensure their safe transfer to specialized hospitals outside Gaza so they can receive necessary treatment as quickly as possible.
