DaysofPal – Israeli occupation forces continued violations of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip on Thursday through air strikes, artillery shelling, and helicopter gunfire, despite the truce that took effect last October.
Local sources reported that Israeli warplanes carried out two air strikes targeting the eastern areas of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. At the same time, Israeli artillery shelled the eastern neighborhoods of Gaza City.
Further shelling struck areas northeast of the Al-Bureij Refugee Camp in central Gaza. An Israeli helicopter also opened fire toward the eastern districts of Gaza City. Later in the day, artillery bombardment resumed in the same areas, extending to the surroundings of Al-Bureij camp in a series of attacks that hit civilian locations.
The violations over the past 24 hours resulted in the killing of one Palestinian and injuries to several others across the territory.
Medical sources reported that 38-year-old Basil Abu Warda was killed and five other people were wounded when an Israeli strike targeted a gathering of civilians near Haider Roundabout west of Gaza City.
During the night, Israeli forces shelled a tent, though no injuries were reported. Another strike hit a building near facilities belonging to the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, causing several nearby tents to catch fire.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that a number of victims remain trapped under rubble or lying in the streets. Ambulance and civil defense teams have been unable to reach them due to ongoing bombardment and dangerous field conditions.
The ministry claims that since the ceasefire was announced on October 11, about 650 Palestinians have been killed and 1,732 have been injured. Rescue crews have recovered 756 bodies from beneath collapsed buildings during the same period.
The cumulative toll of the Israeli genocidal campaign in Gaza since 7 October 2023 has reached 72,135 Palestinians killed and 171,830 injured, reflecting the continuing human losses and widespread destruction across the enclave.
