DaysofPal- UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said that the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza continues despite the ceasefire, as Israeli occupation has not opened sufficient routes for aid delivery.
In a press briefing on Monday evening, Dujarric stated that “congestion on the roads leading into Gaza is putting aid convoys at risk of security threats and looting.”
He explained that the limited number of available routes is causing severe bottlenecks, leaving convoys vulnerable to theft and other dangers.
According to Dujarric, around 1.5 million people remain in desperate need of immediate assistance, with humanitarian requirements “extremely high.”
He added that the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) continues its operations across the Gaza Strip despite the dire conditions on the ground.
Efforts to expand access to healthcare services, he warned, are still hindered by severe shortages of essential supplies and extensive damage to infrastructure caused during the war.
