DaysofPal – As Israel’s relentless war on Gaza enters its 631st consecutive day, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have escalated their campaign of mass atrocities against civilians. Entire families are being buried alive under the sand, as densely populated displacement sites and shelters are reduced to craters by heavy bombardment.
According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, the death toll since October 7, 2023, has now reached 56,331 martyrs, with more than 132,632 wounded. Since the resumption of hostilities on March 18, 2024, alone, at least 6,008 people have been killed and 20,591 injured.
In the latest wave of atrocities:
-
At least 24 civilians were killed in two separate Israeli airstrikes west of Gaza City. One strike hit a large tent encampment near the Holy Family School in the Al-Rimal neighborhood, carving a 20-meter-wide crater that buried over 15 tents. Entire families are feared to have perished.
-
Another airstrike targeted a tent sheltering displaced families on Shaleh Al-Qalaa Street in Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis, killing five and injuring several more.
-
In the northwest of Gaza City, two civilians were killed when Israeli warplanes bombed a classroom inside Adnan Al-Alami School, a supposed place of refuge for families fleeing earlier attacks.
Elsewhere:
-
Al-Awda Hospital confirmed five injuries after occupation forces opened fire on civilians gathered to receive aid on Salah Al-Din Road, south of Wadi Gaza.
-
Residential buildings in northeastern Gaza City were destroyed, while intense artillery shelling was reported in Gaza Old Street, Jabalia (north Gaza), compounding the destruction of civilian infrastructure.
-
The Al-Katiba area in central Khan Younis, once a hub for aid distribution and displaced families, was also targeted—indicative of a calculated strategy to eliminate any space deemed a shelter or safe zone.
In a grave warning, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) urged the restoration of UN-led humanitarian coordination and condemned Israel’s systematic targeting of aid hubs. The group warned that Gaza’s humanitarian system is on the verge of total collapse.
Disturbingly, an increasing number of civilians are now forcibly disappeared—either buried under rubble or detained by Israeli forces without trace during ground operations.
The international community’s silence has become deafening. As Israel continues its war of extermination by hunger, aerial assault, and mass displacement, Gaza’s civilian population is being systematically annihilated. Without urgent intervention, the humanitarian catastrophe will escalate into an irreversible moral and political failure for the world.
