DaysofPal-The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has issued a stark warning about the sharp escalation in Israel’s genocide against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip, citing an increase in mass killings amid complete international inaction and waning media attention.
In a press statement, the Monitor said that Israel has intensified its indiscriminate and systematic attacks on civilian gatherings in recent days, taking advantage of the global media’s shift of focus to the military confrontation between Israel and Iran.
According to field documentation, more than 350 Palestinians have been killed over the past four days alone, in addition to hundreds of injuries and a significant rise in the number of missing persons, due to a wide-scale military escalation across the Strip.
The Monitor reported that over 70 Palestinians were killed just since dawn on Friday until the afternoon hours, nearly half of whom lost their lives while waiting for or attempting to obtain food aid — a disturbing pattern that reflects the deliberate targeting of civilians suffering from hunger.
The organization emphasized that this type of attack constitutes further evidence of Israel’s use of starvation as a weapon of genocide, in grave violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions.
Euro-Med Monitor called on the international community to take immediate action to halt the ongoing atrocities in Gaza and establish effective accountability mechanisms. It warned that continued silence will be perceived as a green light for more massacres and violations.
