Israeli occupation forces IOF demolished on Wednesday morning, January 18, two Palestinian homes in Al-Jiftlik village, north of occupied Jericho.
Palestinian human rights activist Thaer Nujoom stated on Wednesday that Israeli forces IOF and bulldozers invaded the village and demolished two Palestinian-owned homes in occupied Jericho.
This came two weeks after Israeli forces handed over two demolition orders to the homes’ owners in the village, activist Nujoom pointed out.
In addition, He explained that the two homes belong to the family of the Palestinian Ahmed Abu Falah, currently held in Israeli prisons, and the citizen Abu Saud Kaabna.
Al-Jiftlik village is one of the largest Palestinian villages in the Jordan Valley, with an estimated area of 1,242 dunums, and a population of about 4,000 people.
Israeli settlers and forces, aiming at seizing the whole area, systematically carried out attacks and demolitions against the Palestinian lands in Jordan Valley.
The Jordan Valley’s lands, threatened with annexation by the Israeli new government, comprise a third of the occupied West Bank.
Israeli new government, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, has settlement expansion on the list of its main priorities as it seeks to take over as many Palestinian lands as possible.
Israeli occupation authorities have ordered the demolition of 5820 Palestinian structures in the occupied West Bank since 2015, according to the Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission.
