Israeli Occupation Blockades Nablus For 12th Day in Row
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

More than 250,000 Palestinians are trapped in Nablus city under forced lockdown as Israeli occupation forces close all military checkpoints around the city for the twelfth day in a row.

Local sources reported that Israeli occupation closed the Hawara military checkpoint south of Nablus in front of Palestinians and continued to shut the Deir Sharaf military checkpoint in the west with concrete blocks, leaving hundreds stranded inside and outside the besieged city.

Since the twelfth of this month, military checkpoints surrounding east and north of Nablus witnessed a stifling traffic crisis as Israeli occupation forces inspected and checked the identities of Palestinian citizens who pass through these checkpoints.

Israeli forces raid Palestinian homes in the old city of Nablus on daily basis, detaining Palestinian youths after assaulting them, terrorizing families, stopping Palestinian people in the streets, and checking their identities, while forcing shops to shut and attacking others with tear gas bombs and rubber bullets.

Israeli occupation continues its illegal policy of collective punishment against the Palestinian citizens of the Nablus refugee camp under the pretext of escalating acts of resistance.

The closure on Nablus arrives amidst a constant escalation in the occupied West Bank in which Israeli forces killed more than 100 Palestinians since the beginning of the year, according to the Palestinian health ministry.
